Pranayama

Pranayama is a Sanskrit word that consists of two parts: “prana” meaning life force or vital energy, and “yama” meaning control or regulation. Together, pranayama refers to the ancient Indian practice of controlling one’s breath to enhance physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing.

Pranayama is an important aspect of yoga and is typically practiced alongside various yoga poses or asanas. The practice involves a range of techniques that manipulate the breath, including inhaling, exhaling, and holding the breath. The aim of pranayama is to regulate the flow of prana in the body and stimulate the body’s energy centers, or chakras.
