Kriya Yoga

 

Kriya Yoga is a form of yoga that emphasizes the relationship between breath and mind. It is a spiritual practice that aims to bring the practitioner closer to the Divine through the use of specific techniques, including pranayama (breathing exercises), mudras (hand gestures), and meditation.

Kriya Yoga was first taught in modern times by the Indian yogi and guru Paramahansa Yogananda, who introduced it to the West in his book “Autobiography of a Yogi.” According to Yogananda, Kriya Yoga is a way to accelerate spiritual evolution and attain self-realization.

The practice of Kriya Yoga involves a specific series of breathing exercises, including the “Hong-Sau” and “Aum” techniques, which are designed to calm the mind and activate the chakras, or energy centers, in the body. The practice also includes the use of mantras, visualization techniques, and other practices to help the practitioner achieve deeper states of meditation and spiritual awareness.

Kriya Yoga is a path of self-discovery and transformation, and its ultimate goal is to help the practitioner experience the oneness of all things and merge with the Divine.
